Happy belated New Year! I hope 2011 brings all the best to you, your family, and your business.
This month we're beginning the marketing campaign for our first book, Oliver + S Little Things to Sew, which will begin shipping to stores next month. I hope you've placed your pre-order and that you'll be as excited about the projects in the book as I am.
If you have already taken our next fabric collection from Moda, Modern Workshop which will be shipping in April, you may be interested in booking our upcoming Spring-Summer trunk show featuring these fabrics. We provide you with information to start the process if you're interested.
We'll be back next month with more news and information for you.
Cheers,
Liesl

We're excited to let you know that our first book, Oliver + S Little Things to Sew, has arrived in the publisher's warehouse and will begin shipping next month.
The book features 20 full-length projects for children's accessories and toys. The patterns are printed on two double-sided pattern sheets, and they include multiple sizes for most projects. We really think your customers will love them.
For the next several weeks on our blog, we'll be highlighting the fun projects included in the book.
We began this series of posts with a behind the scenes look at the photo shoot and a preview of some of the items in the book being put to use by our chief five-year-old project tester.
Be sure to check back regularly over the next few weeks to get some other sneak peaks at what's included in the book and to see the movie. Yes, a movie!
Oliver + S Little Things to Sew is available for pre-order from both United Notions and Checker. Copies will begin arriving in stores by mid-February to meet the official March 1 publication date.

At last fall's Quilt Market, we previewed our newest line of fabric for Moda, Modern Workshop.
The collection takes its inspiration from the Wiener Werkstatte. Based in Vienna at the turn of the twentieth century, this circle of artists and craftspeople reacted against the industrial revolution's mass production of homewares by creating unique, beautiful objects that are noted today for their enduring quality and their sophisticated design sensibility. The collection includes 32 prints in both floral and geometric motifs that make use of a fresh, twenty-first-century color palette. With Modern Workshop, contemporary quilters and seamstresses can create their own handcrafts that stand apart from the mass-produced items filling our store shelves today.
Modern Workshop includes quilting cottons that have the same hand as City Weekend, luxurious interlock knits, and new PU-coated laminates that meet CPSIA standards for use in children's clothing.
We are preparing a trunk show of garments made from Modern Workshop fabrics. This show will be available starting in April to coincide with the release of the fabric line. If you are interested in booking the trunk show for your shop, please email the studio to schedule a date: information@oliverands.com.

Last year we took the large size range of the School Days Jacket + Coat pattern out of print.
In response to customer requests, and to help you sell all the wonderful coated fabrics coming out this spring (including those in our Modern Workshop line), we've decided to bring this style back for a limited time.
The pattern is available, again, through us and our distributors. Make sure to have your copies on hand when your coated fabric orders arrive.
