Cape Ann is Now Shipping from Moda

This week the third Oliver + S fabric collection with Moda, Cape Ann, began shipping to retailers who placed pre-orders.

Cape Ann takes its inspiration from the work of Virginia Lee Burton and features sweet and charming hand-drawn illustrations which are simultaneously nostalgic and contemporary. It also includes a number of supporting prints that were inspired by nature. 

The line includes 24 SKUs in quilting cotton and 24 SKUs in a wonderful brushed cotton which has the loft, warmth, and softness of flannel.

Join Us in Welcoming Tricia Waddell

We're pleased to announce that Tricia Waddell has joined the team at Liesl and Co., the parent company of Oliver + S, in a new product development role.

Tricia was, most recently, the founder and editor of Stitch magazine. We had the distinct pleasure of working with Tricia there over the past couple years and are very excited that she has decided to join us.

Tricia will be leading work on an exciting new brand we are developing for independent fabric stores. We will be launching the brand at next spring's Quilt Market. She will also be helping us continue to grow and expand the Oliver + S brand. You'll start seeing her work appear on the Oliver + S blog and in our discussion forums shortly.

We're committed to continue bringing you new and inspirational products that will get your customers excited about sewing (and about shopping in your store). The addition of Tricia to our growing team will help us continue to do that.

How to Merchandise a Trunk Show

Recently we stumbled across a photograph of one of our trunk shows displayed in the most gorgeous of manners. We knew we had to share it with you.

In her shop, Abby Gilchrist of Fiddlehead Artisan Supply in Belfast, ME has created a special display vitrine which she uses to present trunk shows, including the Oliver + S trunk show that she hosted last summer. 

Using the trunk show garments, a few of the merchandising props included in the show, a few of her own props, and a good dose of her own sense of style and ingenuity, Abby put together what we think is one of the most visually pleasing displays of a trunk show that we have ever seen.
